Guangzhou Puri Power
In Q2 2025, Guangzhou Puri Power entered into a strategic partnership with TrendPower. Together, the two companies will build a new energy EV charging operation platform and jointly expand into the Hong Kong market.
After the project goes live in Hong Kong, both parties will also explore diversified and innovative EV charging business models for the domestic market.
Founded in 2000, Puri Power is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the field of power automation. Headquartered in Huangpu, Guangzhou, the company has also established a municipally certified technology R&D center.

As a strategic partner of GE Industrial Group and SEL in China, Puri Power has always followed the development philosophy of “connecting the world through intelligent terminals”, continuously promoting the integration of power automation and digital technologies.
With more than 20 years of industry experience and technical accumulation, Puri Power has secured a strong position in the fast-growing new energy market.

Today, the company’s business covers key regions including Hong Kong, Wuhan, and Xinjiang, providing full-chain services and solutions for smart grid terminal products such as substation monitoring systems and relay protection equipment.

As competition in China’s domestic EV charging sector continues to intensify, and as companies increasingly pursue global market expansion, more Chinese charging enterprises are turning their attention overseas.
As the world’s third-largest financial center after New York and London, Hong Kong has become a strategic gateway for Chinese enterprises to connect with global markets, thanks to its unique advantage of being backed by Mainland China while connected to the world.
Data shows that in recent years, driven by policies such as the Hong Kong SAR Government’s One-for-One Replacement Scheme and First Registration Tax Concessions for Electric Vehicles, Hong Kong’s new energy vehicle market has entered a stage of rapid growth.
After six years of accelerated energy transition, Hong Kong’s new energy vehicle penetration rate has surged from 1% in 2018 to 70% in 2024, placing it among the world’s leading markets. Meanwhile, the market value of Hong Kong’s new energy vehicle sector has grown more than fourfold over the past decade, marking a full transition from fuel-dominated mobility to electric mobility.

In addition to policy support, cost advantages have also become a key driver of EV adoption in Hong Kong.
It is understood that Hong Kong’s electricity rates are approximately:
HKD 1.3/kWh for industrial electricity
HKD 1.2/kWh for residential electricity
HKD 1.1/kWh for new energy electricity
Based on the energy cost required for a vehicle to travel 100 kilometers, the fuel cost is approximately HKD 200, equivalent to around RMB 180.

By contrast, EV charging costs only about HKD 20–45, equivalent to around RMB 17–36, making the travel cost less than one-tenth that of a fuel vehicle.
The business manager responsible for the Puri Power Hong Kong EV charging project commented:

“Although Hong Kong’s new energy vehicle market is developing rapidly, the energy replenishment infrastructure sector is still a blue ocean.”
“At present, there is no dominant market leader in the sector. The competitive landscape remains relatively open, and the overall development level is close to where Mainland China was three to four years ago.”
It is worth noting that as Hong Kong’s 2030 policy targets continue to be implemented, once commercial electric taxis and minibuses are fully put into operation, the supply-demand gap in charging facilities may become increasingly concentrated.
This creates an important strategic opportunity for companies that make early deployments.
For many companies like Puri Power that are seeking to expand overseas, Hong Kong is an ideal stepping stone. It not only benefits from the industrial foundation of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, but also provides strong access to global markets.
Once a company successfully opens up the Hong Kong market, its overseas business can gradually expand from this entry point into regions such as Europe and Southeast Asia.
As a software technology service provider deeply engaged in the global new energy EV charging sector, TrendPower has already accumulated rich project experience in Hong Kong and has successfully helped many domestic enterprises achieve localized operations there.
In response to Puri Power’s EV charging business deployment needs in Hong Kong, TrendPower provides a one-stop solution adapted to the region’s multilingual environment, protocol requirements, and payment scenarios.
The platform covers the user app, H5 mobile workstation, and backend PC management system. It replicates the mature system architecture already proven in the domestic market while applying differentiated customization based on the characteristics of Hong Kong’s charging service market.
① Protocol Integration
In terms of hardware protocols, the platform supports integration with OCPP 1.6 and the YKC protocol, meeting the requirements of the Hong Kong EV charging market.
② Multilingual System
The platform supports language switching between Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and English.
③ Login Methods
Considering that Hong Kong users place a high value on personal privacy, TrendPower provides multiple login methods, including mobile number login, email login, and third-party social account login such as Google and Facebook.
This simplifies the registration process and improves the overall user experience.
④ Charging Fee Model
The platform adopts an auto-stop when fully charged model and calculates fees based on the actual charging duration.
After users finish charging, the system automatically deducts the charging fee from the user’s account balance, bound credit card, or third-party payment method.
⑤ Flexible Billing Rules
The platform supports flexible billing rule configuration.
Administrators can freely adjust pricing rules through the backend PC system based on site location and charging time periods. Supported options include idle fees, minimum starting balance, and time-of-use pricing such as peak, shoulder, and off-peak rates.
In addition, to address the differences between Hong Kong and Mainland China in payment habits — with Hong Kong residents generally preferring cash or card payments — TrendPower has integrated SoéPay, a mainstream local aggregate payment platform in Hong Kong, to help partners launch smoothly in the local market.
With SoéPay, enterprises no longer need to separately apply for and manage multiple payment interfaces. They can integrate Visa, UnionPay, and other bank card payments, as well as Alipay, WeChat Pay, and other QR code payments through one platform.
As the cooperation continues to move forward, the business manager revealed that after the Hong Kong charging platform officially goes live, Puri Power’s next overseas development targets will be the Thailand and France EV charging markets.
At the same time, the cooperation between Puri Power and TrendPower in the domestic market will also deepen. In the future, the two parties will focus on advancing two core business sectors: the franchise and merchant recruitment system and the new retail marketplace, further extending the value chain of EV charging services.

Conclusion
As a leading company in global EV charging software customization and development, TrendPower provides full-scenario digital solutions for the EV charging industry.
We will continue working with more outstanding Chinese charging equipment manufacturers and operators, delivering dedicated service and jointly exploring international business growth opportunities in the digital energy sector.
