It is reported that Shandong Yuantai Industrial Co., Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Shandong Yuantai Holding Group. Established in 2003 by the Yiyuan County Power Supply Company of State Grid Shandong Electric Power Company, it is a comprehensive enterprise integrating power engineering design, construction, and electrical equipment manufacturing, with strong financial capabilities.
Since its establishment, Yuantai Industrial has leveraged its integrated construction services to undertake thousands of power engineering projects, filling multiple gaps in Yiyuan County’s power industry. At present, it is the only enterprise in Yiyuan County qualified to carry out 0.4kV–110kV power transmission and transformation projects, as well as the construction and testing of high- and low-voltage prefabricated substations.
To actively expand its presence in overseas new energy markets and seek new breakthroughs in international cooperation, Yuantai Industrial visited Tajikistan this July for business exchanges. According to statistics from Tajikistan’s customs authorities, the country imported approximately 18,000 electric vehicles in 2024, nearly four times higher than the previous year. From January to May 2025 alone, imports had already approached 13,000 units, signaling that EV imports in Tajikistan continue to reach new record highs.
Behind this rapid acceleration in transport electrification lies the country’s abundant and clean hydropower resources, which provide a natural advantage for the widespread adoption of electric vehicles.
“In Tajikistan, filling a tank of fuel costs around 600–1,200 somoni and supports a driving range of 400–600 kilometers. For the same distance, charging an electric vehicle at home costs only 13–25 somoni, while public charging typically ranges from just 30–100 somoni.”
The significant reduction in travel costs is expected to drive a major shift in consumer behavior over the coming years, with more users prioritizing electric vehicles over traditional internal combustion engine cars.
In addition, at the national strategic level, Tajikistan is actively advancing transport electrification. The government plans to invest 230 million somoni to fully implement the 2023–2028 Electric Transport Development Program.

To support these initiatives, under the revised Tax Code, Tajikistan has exempted pure electric transport from import duties, VAT, and excise taxes for ten years starting from October 2022. This policy applies to electric cars, electric buses, trolleybuses, and related categories.
